The end of the Old Mutual Foundation road trip ... |
Wow! And what a journey it turned out to be. A few thousand kilometres, some amazing people, a beautiful country and a lost wallet in a baobab tree.
The focus of our journey when we set out was to gather the stories of the lives touched by the work of the Old Mutual Foundation. Storytelling is such a powerful medium that connects people at a heart level - across colour, creed and continents. An ancient wisdom, it’s as relevant in our modern boardrooms as it is sitting around a fire under the stars at night.
It’s been wonderful to see the response to our road trip blog and the stories of the Old Mutual Foundation projects. Mark’s powerful imagery contributed enormously to the success of our blog and I only wish that we could’ve also inserted Tim’s video clips as well (a learning for our next blog!). To date, we’ve received 15,809 hits with a loyal following amongst Old Mutual staff and overseas readers from around the world. Here are the top 11 countries out of over 50 countries:
South Africa | 13647 |
United Kingdom | 482 |
United States | 453 |
Germany | 355 |
Netherlands | 54 |
India | 45 |
Australia | 37 |
Malaysia | 30 |
Philippines | 30 |
Canada | 29 |
Colombia | 29 |
What’s next you may ask? Well right now, the job at hand is to compile these stories into a book which will be available at the end of September. It’s going to be a great book, documenting the journey of the Old Mutual Foundation and the projects that we’ve covered in the road trip blog.
We'll let you know about it once it's printed and available.
To all those who’ve travelled this memorable journey with us, thanks for coming along and if you’re in the ‘neighbourhood’, drop us line and let us know about you and your world.

Yours in spirit,
Can't wait for the coffee table book, where can we buy one? It's been an awesome trip and am looking forward to seeing more about Kili and the Bobs For Good climb.
ReplyDelete@ Hey Shoe Box Girl, our beautiful book will be available at the end of September, but good news is that all finalists of our annual Staff Volunteerism Awards will receive their very own copy!
ReplyDeleteThe coffee table book is beautiful, and the stories are just inspirational :)
